Beyond Cosmetics: The 2016 Kia Optima from El Paso, TX Delivers Form and Function

All eyes are on the 2016 Kia Optima Hybrid as it makes its way to the market. A lot good things have been said about this model, which would explain the amount of anticipation surrounding its release.

Forward-Looking

One of the more obvious changes in this hybrid iteration is the sophisticated appearance of the body. The trademark Kia tiger nose grille has been widened making the front of the car look more commanding and demanding of your worthy attention.

Futuristic is also how it’s been described by many, with its sleek lines and slimmer rear lights. The body is also made sturdier and stiffer, with a reported increase of up to 150 percent in the body’s stiffness. The wheels, engine mounts and body panels have all been reinforced as well.

Inside-Out

It’s impossible to talk about hybrid cars without talking about the engine. For the 2016 Optima, the options vary from a 2.4-liter,a 2.0-liter turbo four--both models carrying six-speed automaric transmission--and a 1.6-liter turbo four that features a seven-speed dual-clutch.

Interior Comforts

The features for its interior cabins are no slouch, either. It comfortably seats five, features a dual-zone climate control system, and interior air filtration among many others. For entertainment, you get a total of six speakers, satellite radio, USB connection, and Bluetooth connection for hands-free phone use.
