Unlike most of its competitors, the 2016 Kia Sportage comes
with solid engine power, but has high fuel efficiency and lots of features that
surely make it worthwhile. From the exterior to the interior, Kia has managed
to create a crossover SUV that has an excutive look but is a beast in its ride
and performance.
The Base Model and
the SX Model
The 2016 Kia Sportage comes in two versions: the base model
is fitted with a 2.4 liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine producing 182
horsepower, and the SX model is integrated with a 2.0 GDI engine producing 260
horsepower. The average mpg of the base model is around 21 mpg for city roads
and 28 mpg for highway roads. Overall, comparing the engine performance with
the fuel efficiency, one could say that the Kia Sportage stands as one of the
most economical SUVs out there.
Other Features and
Tech
To start with, Kia’s UVO technology is integrated, allowing
drivers to receive vehicle diagnostics and updates, maps, and road directions
via voice commands. Similarly, drivers also have the luxury of taking calls and
setting audio tracks via voice commands. What’s unique is that the UVO is
connected to the SiriusXM Traffic Technology that gives updates on traffic and
ensures that drivers navigate away from it.
The seats are electronically adjustable, giving drivers and
passengers the ability to control their seat angles and placement with just a
push of a button, without the need of manually pulling and pushing the seats.
